Greetings dreamers and music makers! M.Born here reporting live from an undisclosed location at 114 Main Street, Uprock Audio. Okay okay, all jokes aside, we’ve had an awesome week.  Last Tuesday we had our featured artist, Stevie Nader record vocals for Rasar’s album (formerly known as Random Abiladeze). Talk about all that talent in one room. If you’re unfamiliar with Rasar, time to step out of the rock you’ve been sleeping under. Rasar is “The MC”, plainly put. A gifted poet and crafty lyricist, Rasar is, if not the biggest hiphop artist in Sacramento. Mention that to him personally, and he’ll be the first to deny it. An all around good guy, we’re ecstatic for him to collaborate with us since we’ve been big fans since the start of his career. Rasar is set to release “ The Dream Is Over” ep within the next month, and of course with my ninja skills, I got a sneak peek and was literally shaking my head in disgust (in a positive way) the whole listen. Look out for Rasar at a local show near you.

Recording artist/singer, Ryan Traughber was also in the building this past weekend, accompanied by percussionist Omar Barajas. The two laid down some smooth tracks engineered by Dean Glover. Indie, soul- singer and songwriter Vadim Zanko, who’s set to release his EP next month, also hit the recording booth, with John Glover working the boards.

Finally on the lessons side, 4mulation continues their success. I can’t get enough of these kids! They performed at our weekly open mic at Bar 101, and while scanning the room, all eyes and smiles were in attendance as the young heartthrobs took the stage.  There’s nothing like watching young talent perform. Way to go boys! We’re proud and inspired by all of you. Keep up the hard work.

We’re busier than ever these days, and it’s exactly why we want to update, and shine light on all the local talent. We’d like to thank you all for being part of our Uprock Family! We’re scheduled for another productive week ahead, so please stay tuned for next week’s update!
